Day 1: The Essentials of Online Marketing

Date: Saturday, October 17
Time: 9 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

Modules 1 and 2
Foundation: Strategy and Website

Where do you get started in online marketing? You begin with the foundation, building your strategy and tying it to the epicenter of all your online marketing efforts, your website. You’ll learn the basics of:

  • Setting strategic goals for your online marketing program
  • Building a comprehensive strategic plan
  • Optimizing your website to support your strategy

Modules 3, 4, and 5
Tactics: Search, Email and Social Media

What are the primary tactics for executing your strategy? In these modules, you’ll learn best practices in the three most common online marketing tactics. You’ll learn the basics of:

  • Search: How to make the most of SEO (organic search) and PPC (paid search)
  • Email: How to design an email marketing campaign that both complies with today’s laws and standards and maximizes your ROI.
  • Social Media: How social media fits into your overall marketing plan and what it takes to make investing in social media worth your efforts.

Modules 6 and 7
Measurement and Management: Analytics and Demand Generation

How do you know that your strategy and tactics are good ones? Your online marketing program is only as good as how you measure results, how you analyze the data, and how you track your leads. In these modules, you’ll learn how to both measure and manage your online marketing data. You’ll learn the basics of:

  • Using your data to support business decisions
  • Tools you can use to measure, track, test and tweak your online marketing programs
  • Analyzing where you’re succeeding, where you’re failing and where you may be missing opportunities.

*Attendees will receive credit towards Level 1 (Essentials) certification at the Online Marketing Institute as well as the ability to apply the amount paid ($760) towards the overall cost of certification ($950) if they choose to enroll as a student.


Day 2: Social Media Integration and Execution

Date:  Sunday, October 18
Time:  1 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.
