TIPs and FAQs

 

How do I best take advantage of the new DMA09 Mobile platform as an attendee at this yearʼs conference?

You can use DMA09 Mobile to find people and connect with people through the people directory.  You can use our embedded Twitter client to post to Twitter from any page within the mobile platform.  The hashtag for the event or the session page will automatically embed in your tweet.  You can also see all of the tweets for the event or the session aggregated on the right page.   And you can your your smartphone to take private notes, participate in polls, rate and evaluate conference sessions, and find and communicate with conference sponsors and exhibitors.

 

How do I set up my profile page?

When you receive your log in information, you go to http://dma09mobile.org and log into the site. Once you log in you will see Edit Profile in the submenu from Home link. Click on Edit Profile. If you have a Facebook account, you can populate your account with public information from your Facebook page. Just hit the Facebook Connect button to add your Facebook credentials. Then you can fill in any other information you want people to see in your profile. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can enter your Twitter credentials.

 

 

How does Facebook Connect work?

Facebook connect allows you to import your public profile information and photo from Facebook to DMA09 Mobile. If you have a Facebook account, you can click on the Facebook Connect icon and you will be asked to sign into Facebook. You will see your name, your photo, your affiliation, your blog url — any information in your Facebook profile that matches empty fields for your DMA09 profile.

 

What does Post Status to Twitter mean?

By clicking the dialog box, any posts you make within the DMA09 Twitter client will also be added to your Twitter feed.

 

What does allow private messages mean?

You can allow people registered for the conference to send you a private message via email. If you don’t check this dialog box, that option will now show up when people view your profile.
